2025 Laurel Festival Highlights | Part 4
Last Sunday, June 22nd the Pennsylvania State Laurel Festival came to its conclusion with the Unity Service on the Green. The Wellsboro Ministerium organized the service, with various churches in town contributing.
The event opened with a welcome from Reverend Michael Birbeck from First Presbyterian Church of Wellsboro.
Kayla Kennedy from Vineyard Church of Wellsboro invited the congregation to join the call to worship.
Next, Reverend Liz Jackson of United Methodist Church of Wellsboro offered a prayer of adoration.
Emmanuel Posada, a recipient of the Christian Leadership Award, read a passage from scripture.
This was followed by a song by the Community Mass Church Choir.
Then Lucas Cuneo, also a recipient of the Christian Leadership Award, read another passage from scripture.
This year’s sermon was shared by Reverend Birbeck, titled “Stand Firm In the Lord.”
Reverend Carl Linscott of Crossroads Family Worship Center invited the congregation to worship in giving, and closed out the service with an offertory prayer, while the the Community Has Church Choir led two more hymns.
Reverend Birbeck dismissed everyone with the benediction, concluding a beautiful demonstration of unity and faith for the 83rd Annual Laurel Festival.
