Your Best Health, Now!
Women are often the nurturers who look after those around them and seldom take time out to refresh themselves! This video feature and article encourages women to enjoy the adventure of being healthier. Tonya Welshans, Outreach Program Coordinator for Susquehanna Health, says “We want to motivate and inspire women to make positive changes in their lives.”
Susquehanna Health presents a Spirit of Women event, Girls’ Night Out, on April 21st, at the Penn Wells Hotel in Wellsboro. Spirit of Women is a free program that connects women to the health services of Susquehanna Health. Susquehanna Health is one of 100 hospitals nationwide that is dedicated to promoting services to women. They are in their fourth year of the program with over three thousand members. In the past four years they have held many events, such as their recent Day of Dance where over three hundred and fifty women came to learn about heart health, activity and exercise.
This first Tioga County program, Girls’ Night Out, will start at 5:30 PM and end at 7:30 PM. Any woman 18 years or older is invited to attend this fun evening. There is no cost — so bring your mom, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and girlfriends! BUT YOU DO NEED TO REGISTER. To register, please call: 1-888-720-8461.
During the evening there will be a variety of health screenings available for you, including: blood pressure, body composition, bone density, posture, and sleep disorder assessment. Personnel from the hospital’s departments of physical therapy and nutrition services will also be present.
The key note address will be given by Doctor Allison Coyle, OBGYN of Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital.
The five business reward partners of Spirit of Women will have many cash and carry items for sale on display.
Their next event will be held in June at the Deane Center and the topic will be heart health.
