Wellsboro vs North Penn: The Rivalry
The evening of Friday, November 6, 2015 will set the stage for a dramatic showdown: the highly anticipated rivalry football game between Wellsboro High School and North Penn. This year, the Hornets will meet the Panthers on their home field in Blossburg to determine who will walk away with Morton F. Jones Memorial Trophy. This trophy has been awarded to the winner and traded back and forth since 1962.
In today’s feature, former coach and Home Page correspondant Steve Adams meets with North Penn head coach Tom Dickinson and Wellsboro head coach Matt Hildebrand to talk about their coaching careers, their teams and what this long-standing rivalry means to the two schools and to them.
The rivalry game will take place at Island Park in Blossburg tomorrow, (Friday, November 6). Kickoff is at 7:00 pm.
