Ed Weaver Drops the (U) Word!
Today’s broadcast is another life-saving feature from UPMC Susquehanna. You can watch many life-saving programs on the UPMC Susquehanna channel, located on our left navigation bar under the heading, “Special Features.”
Take six minutes and watch something that may end up saving your life. This broadcast is for everyone, (with a particular focus on men’s health). Because of the nature of today’s feature, Home Page asked one of the toughest guys we know to take charge. Home Page Sports Director, Ed Weaver, sat down for a visit with Dr. Jeffrey Ranta, MD to discuss the “U” word.

Pastor Pete & The Star-Bearer!
On this broadcast, Home Page correspondent Julianna Vogt interviewed Pastor Peter Tremblay about the novel he authored, The Star-Bearer.
Pastor Tremblay, desiring to write a story similar to the fantasies written by J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, began a challenge through NaNoWriMo to write a novel in one month (and in one year of editing). He succeeded in completing the challenge, and The Star-Bearer became a reality. Believing that much of the genre of fantasy had grown dark and foreboding, he set out to write an adventure story filled with hope, love, and community. When Julianna asked him what he wanted to convey in the novel to the readers, he responded, ” I like a story where good wins out in the end.”

The Chair-ity Auction 2018
The Wellsboro Art Club, which began in 1948, is still doing the creative work of making things beautiful for the community to enjoy, this time with an educational purpose!
While visiting outside of her hometown a few years ago, Suzan Richar, president of the club, saw a flyer with the words Chair-ity Auction on it. She immediately thought this might be an excellent idea for raising money for their Art Club Scholarship fund. This Art Club Scholarship is in honor of Jane Wetherbee’s love of art and art education. She is a long time member of the club who graduated from Wellsboro High School in 1947. She later graduated from Edinboro in 1951with a degree in Art. She returned to the area and taught for many years, and still resides in the area.
