Wellsboro High School – Class of 2017
95 diplomas were given out by School Board President, Matthew Feil. Principal Rob Kreger certified that the students had completed the requirements necessary to receive a diploma from the Wellsboro Area High School. Tassels were moved from right to left, and the celebration began!

The management and staff of The Home Page Network congratulate the Class of 2017 on their accomplishments and pray God’s very best for each one of them in the future.

Emergency 101 – School Bus Accident Drill
On Monday, June 5th, 2017, the Tioga County Emergency Management Agency facilitated a School Bus Collision Simulation Drill in Farmington Township followed by a mass casualty simulation at the UPMC Soldiers and Sailors Hospital in Wellsboro. With participants from the Northern Tioga School District, Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, the District Attorney’s Office, Tioga County Fire Police, and various local EMS, Fire, and Law Enforcement agencies, the drill was largely viewed as a successful opportunity for training in Tioga County.

Artist Spotlight: Megan McGarry
Megan McGarry has grown up in the world of Bluegrass. Her father, Chris McGarry, shared his passion for music with her by putting a fiddle in her hands at the young age of 5. It wasn’t long before she caught the Bluegrass bug. Now, when not attending classes at Berkelee College of Music in Boston, Megan and Chris tour together as a father-daughter duo. Megan just completed her third year at Berkelee, and shared that she feels thankful for the amazing opportunity of growth the school provides.

Laurel Festival – They’re “Almost World Famous!”
Although Laurel Festival activities have already begun, this past Wednesday was The “Almost World Famous” Wellsboro Town Band’s first seasonal concert on the Wellsboro Green. This concert marked the first, of a four concert series over the summer, with the last three performances happening every other Wednesday (June 28th, July 12th, and July 26th). They opened up with the National Anthem, followed by The Pledge of Allegiance. From there, symphonic melodies filled the air with some familiar tunes, like music from Pirates of the Caribbean. The concert was a great tribute to the community.

Laurel Festival – Royal Interviews!
Each June, as the garlands of mountain laurel bloom throughout our woodlands, Wellsboro celebrates with a variety of special events, not the least of which is the annual crowning of the Pennsylvania State Laurel Queen. The tradition of crowning a queen goes back to 1938 and continues to this day with 28 young women who represent their schools and communities in the event that honors the gifts and talents of each, and encourages them to impact the future.
