Wellsboro 2014 Baccalaureate
Today on Wellsboro Home Page we feature highlights from the Baccalaureate Service held last night at Wellsboro High School. The service included personal reflections from a number of students, including our own Morgan Koziar of Wellsboro Home Page. Other personal reflections were shared by Katie Benelli, Blake Gamble, Harley Heichel, and Blair Carson.
The service began with a processional to music titled “Tranquility” by author and pianist Elise Becker. The welcome was handled by Alexis Whittle, Senior Class President. The invocation was presented by Joanna Wagner. There were also a number of special readings by Baylee Mann, Julia Waters and Alexandria Kurtz. Music selections performed by the Senior Choir included, “May it Be” (Lord of the Rings), arranged by Mark Brymer with pianist Julia Waters and “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” by Paul Simon and Kirby Shaw with pianist Julia Waters.
The address to the graduating class was presented by Mr. John Deleonardis (affectionately known as “Coach D”) who also featured an inspirational video message by Nick Vujicic. (Nick is a motivational speaker and spiritual encourager born with Tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by the absence of all four limbs. You can find out more about Nick and watch his life changing video messages by clicking on the Inspirational section of Wellsboro Home Page.) If you are ever feeling a little down, take a few brief moments to watch one of Nick’s messages.
A slide show presentation was prepared by Allie Rudy. The benediction was handled by Megan Wilson and the class recessional featured music titled, “I Giorni” by Ludovico Einaudi with pianist Elise Becker.
Thanks to the Baccalaureate Committee members, Katie Benelli, Rachelle Boyd, Morgan Koziar, Alexandria Kurtz, Samantha Lawton, Baylee Mann, Allie Rudy, Julia Waters, and Alexis Whittle.
Special thanks and blessings to our own Morgan Koziar for her wonderful contribution to Wellsboro Home Page. We look forward to working with Morgan throughout the summer and wish her God’s very best as she heads to Slippery Rock University this fall.
Morgan Koziar is a delightful young lady who loves people and will brighten anyone’s day. Morgan has recently received a number of honors including a $2500 scholarship from the Wellsboro Veterans Club. She was also crowned the 2014 Wellsboro Prom Queen. But the honor that Morgan treasures most is being the recipient of the Mrs. B Memorial Award, which includes a certificate and having her name placed on a plaque in the school. Mrs. B was a Spanish teacher of Morgan’s that passed away last year. This special teacher meant so much to Morgan and this award has truly blessed her heart.
