PROTECT OUR PETS!
The Humane Society reminds us that if your dog is one of those who likes to be outdoors much of the day, he or she should be protected by a dry, draft-free shelter that is large enough to allow the dog to sit and lie down comfortably, but small enough to hold in his/her body heat. The floor should be raised a few inches off the ground and covered with cedar shavings or straw. The house should be turned to face away from the wind, and the doorway should be covered with waterproof burlap or heavy plastic.

The Wellsboro Community Concert Association presents The Claire Lynch Band on Wednesday, December 3, at 7:30, performing both their bluegrass and special holiday songs. We interviewed Claire via FaceTime from her home in Nashville, Tennessee. Wellsboro will be her first venue of the seven Holiday Concerts that she will be performing this year. Claire has won numerous awards in her career, such as being named the best female vocalist in 1997, 2010, and 2013 by the International Bluegrass Music Association. This year they awarded her song “Dear Sister” the title of ‘Song of the Year.’

A DICKENS OF A GOOD TIME!
One of the year’s most highly anticipated events is coming this weekend – and with it, an opportunity to dress in Victoria-era costume and enjoy all kinds of activities and shopping! Today’s broadcast features Larry and Barbara Biddison who have been involved with Dickens for the past 31 years – from the very beginning! Home Page’s Sara Vogt met with them at the historic Penn Wells Hotel. The couple encouraged everyone to dress up and enjoy the day. By doing so “you take on a character, and then others come to talk with you and maybe even take your picture!” said Larry. More importantly, it is a way for you to meet new people and enjoy the day from a different experience.

THE 31st ANNUAL DICKENS OF A CHRISTMAS!
“Dickens of a Christmas” will begin Saturday, December 6, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. Dickens is about creating and enjoying a Victorian marketplace in beautiful downtown Wellsboro. Last year, over 175 craft and food vendors presented their homemade and handcrafted goods. The streets will be closed to traffic for shopping and performances.
The Dickens Players are a group of strolling performers who will entertain shoppers with Christmas readings, costumes and carols. They will be performing at the Gmeiner Art Center at 12:30p.m. Hamilton Gibson Productions will also present “A Christmas Carol” at the Arcadia Theater several times throughout the day.
