Visions from Cape Breton & Beyond!
On February 24, 2015 at 7:30 PM the Wellsboro Community Concert Association is presenting Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy – two world-acclaimed fiddlers and multiple Juno Award winners. Both Natalie and Donnell grew up in Canada, enjoying the gift of being surrounded by music in their families. They each began playing their instruments at a young age and both have enjoyed their career successes. Natalie has recorded over 11 albums and has had the opportunity to play with many other artists, such as Yo-Yo Ma in his songs of Joy and Peace. For more than 20 years Donnell has been the frontman of the acclaimed band Leahy for over 20 years alongside his eight brothers and sisters. He has also performed many solo concerts.
Now they are traveling together for a this tour, coming soon to Wellsboro. They have titled this tour “Visions from Cape Breton and Beyond” and will be featuring their new album, entitled “One.” In today’s feature, both artists express the importance of their heritage of faith and family, which they choose to impart to their children who accompany them on tour. You will have the opportunity to see their children perform on stage with their Mom and Dad at their upcoming concert in Wellsboro. The amazing band members joining them on tour includes Mac Morin on piano, Matt MacIsaac on guitar, whistles & bagpipes, Shane Hendrickson on bass, and Brian Talbot on drums. We hope you will take advantage of this unique opportunity to experience the music of these incredibly talented musicians
