The 49th Tioga County Fair Finale

by John Vogt - August 17, 2015

The 49th Annual Tioga County Fair – along with the 36th Annual Junior Livestock Sale and Milk Auction – has come to a close. It was a wonderful experience for the thousands who attended. Today on Home Page, Morgan Koziar and Darby Kasper wrap up our Fair coverage with a special recap of memorable moments. Darby and Morgan also take time to thank all who helped make our Fair a great success.

It all began last Sunday, August 9th when Darby was crowned as our new Fair Queen. Morgan was selected as First Runner-Up. Darby and Morgan consider it an honor to represent the Tioga County Fair. They look forward to serving you throughout this next year by representing the hard-working people in our region. Darby and Morgan also sent out a special thank-you to Jennifer Thomas of KC-101 for all her love and encouragement.

On Monday, August 10th the amusement rides where open for fun and found a steady stream of young people having a blast throughout the week-long event. There were tractor-pulls and fireworks. The food was a treat – especially the fries and the ice cream…and the beef! The baked goods were yummy and the chicken barbecue was out of this world!

The fireworks show on Wednesday night was extra special. There must have been three grand finales! Music was in the air throughout week at several locations. This year’s talent show produced four winners, and the John Berry concert was excellent. It all ended with the big DEMOLITION DERBY on Saturday night!

Next year the Tioga County Fair will celebrate its 50th anniversary. It could be the best one ever!
