STPR 2016 – Meet Travis Pastrana

by Morgan Koziar - June 3, 2016

On Thursday night, June 2nd, Home Page Sports had the opportunity to speak with two STPR drivers, rivals & teammates – Travis Pastrana and David Higgins.

It’s been seven years since Travis has last entered the Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally. Thrilled to be a part of the action this year, he hopes to bring home the win. “This year…I hope to get my first win ever for STPR. It’s the only track on the circuit I have not won so this is definitely a bucket-list.” says Pastrana.

Travis’ competitive spirit is especially high due to a recent, intense neck-and-neck race with his Subaru Rally Team USA teammate and rival, David Higgins at the Oregon Trail Rally where the two were a fraction of a second apart. “David has been so awesome as a teammate.” says Pastrana. “He’s been my coach…he’s a seven-time Rally America champion. He’s definitely the guy to beat. It should be a good battle!”

When asked about his return after a seven-year hiatus from the STPR, he commented, “Unfortunately the X Games has always been at the same time as this event, so I’ve been at the X Games. But this year I said, you know what? I’m going back to the woods! Back to…have some fun.” This year will be the first time since 1999 that Pastrana has skipped the X Games, but he regrets nothing. “At the end of the day, I’m really happy to be here. This is awesome.”

Come out and watch all of the competitors (including Travis) at this year’ Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally, Friday to Saturday starting at 11:30 AM on Friday.
