The Other Side of 911

by Joe Carreon - February 21, 2014

Wellsboro Home Page had the opportunity to take a tour of the Tioga County Department of Emergency Services. They gave us an inside look at all the major components that go into running such an expansive and important operation for the people of Tioga County. Home Page’s Sarah Vickery also sat down and spoke with David Cohick, the director of emergency services for our area and asked him some important questions regarding their upcoming relocation.

The Tioga County Department of Emergency Services is a department within county government that administers several different programs that work together to enhance the safety and well-being of residents and visitors to Tioga County . The Department includes the programs of Emergency Management Agency and Homeland Security, 911 Communications Center, Hazardous Material Planning & Response, Emergency Medical Services, and Fire and Rescue Training. The Department also includes the West Nile Virus Surveillance program.
