NEB edges North Penn-Liberty, 6-5
The North Penn-Liberty Mounties came up short in a tough 6-5 loss to Northeast Bradford on Monday, April 24th.
Northeast was on the board first with an RBI single to left driving in Gabby Slater.
The Lady Mounties answered back in their half of the frame as Savanah Doney drove in Brooke Harvey and Carmen Bates with a two-run triple.
Northeast came back and tied it up at two in the bottom of the second as Taya Howell scored on a Mountie error at third base.
At the bottom of the third, Harvey crossed home off a Bates infield single and Mackenzie Heater scored Bates with a double in the gap to give the lady Mounties a 4-2 lead.
Sixth inning – Northeast tied it up for a second time with a two-run single by Howell and then took the lead in the seventh off a Slater fly up the middle that scored Megan Brown. Slater would go on to circle the bases later in the frame to give Northeast a 6-4 lead.
The Lady Mounties tacked on one run in the bottom of the 7th with a Heater RBI single up the middle to bring the game to 6-5, but Northeast would go on to win at that score.
The Lady Mounties will be back in action tomorrow, April 26, as they travel to Williamson. Thanks for watching today on Home Page Sports.
