Police officers are often on scene before or at the same time as emergency medical responders, so having quick access to an AED could save lives. After receiving generous local donations and a donation from Shell Appalachia, the groups were able to purchase 26 AEDs; enough to outfit every remaining local police vehicle as well as several for state agency vehicles as well.

Lexi’s Fight
A Mansfield University student, Alexis Caviston, was recently diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer. Alexis, who goes by Lexi, was diagnosed with brain cancer in November 2017. At first she believed she was just sick, with symptoms of vomiting. But doctors’ tests confirmed the presence of a cancerous tumor.

When her friends and family found out, they became supportive of Lexi and her battle. Her sorority sisters have held fundraisers for Lexi since they found out about her diagnosis, including a day at Rise and Shine Nutrition, located in Williamsport, where half the proceeds they made went towards Lexi. One friend also made a GoFundMe page for her, which can be found here.
