Memorial Day Ceremony 2017
Today on The Home Page Network we reflect on Memorial Day as we highlight the ceremony that took place in Wellsboro, PA, yesterday May 29th. This gathering represents thousands of services and ceremonies that took place throughout our nation as we said, thank you, and remembered those who have paid the ultimate price.

Our featured speaker this year was Lt. Col. Joe Rawson who presented a heartfelt and powerful message in honor of those who have given their all. Lt. Col. Rawson said that those we honor came from all walks of life and all shared fundamental qualities that make our nation great. He said that they embodied courage, pride, determination, selfless, dedication to duty, and great personal integrity.

Today’s adventure will take Linda and her companions along a section of the Pine Creek Rail-Trail to the small town of Cedar Run, and they will stop at some special landmarks along the way—the first of which is Rattlesnake Rock, just off the trail.

Former FBLA Pres Shares Passion
Sarah Hohman tapped into a powerful opportunity when she joined a Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter at her school. From Sarah’s story, we learned the benefits that students can gain from participation in FBLA. Students may have heard of FBLA in their school, but perhaps they didn’t realize they were missing out on a fun, team spirited, and competitive program. This program motivates students by awarding achievement and providing tools for future success.

Mounties fall to Mifflinburg in District Title
North Penn-Liberty’s district title hopes fell just short after a 3-1 loss to Mifflinburg in the District IV Class AAA Championship on Thursday, June 1.

Even with the loss, both coaches are proud of their girls after this year’s squad becoming the winningest team in Liberty history, and they still have a chance to make a run in the State Tournament. “Words can’t describe it.” said Coach Heatley. “They all get together and they help each other out, and that’s what we want.” said Coach Grinnell.

North Penn-Liberty will be back in action in the PIAA State Tournament on Monday, June 5 against District II Champion, Mid Valley, at a site and time to be determined.
