MU’s Big Event Serves Community
On Saturday, April 22, 2017, Mansfield University held The Big Event in partnership with Mansfield University’s Student Government Association and Community Service Club.
The Big Event is a day-long service project where students, faculty, and staff volunteer their time to give back to the surrounding communities.
The Big Event is a wonderful example of the heart and work ethic of Mansfield University and the sense of community that they instill in their students. They are a great reminder to us all to do our part in giving back to our community—every day.

Peggy’s Grand Re-Opening!
Peggy’s Candies & Gifts is gearing up for their GRAND RE-OPENING taking place this weekend – April 28th, 29th, and 30th. It’s going to be a sweet time on Main Street in Wellsboro, PA.
The theme for the event will be Alice in Wonderland. Alice is played by Mary’s youngest daughter, Emily. A star is born! Annie will be playing the White Rabbit. You won’t find a sweeter young lady anywhere. Heather is the Mad Hatter, full of sweet surprises and artistic talent. Tyler will be playing Cheshire Cat, the voice of reason, which seems to be the role he plays in real life situations. (Tyler is also a Marine Veteran, and we thank him for his service to our country. Bless you, Tyler.) Mary is playing the Queen of Hearts. But, THIS Queen is full of love!

Movin’ Together – Jump Start Your Day!
Shape up your morning routine by following these breakfast tips: include protein-rich foods like eggs or nuts on your breakfast menu. Consuming protein is critical to jump starting your metabolism for the day and preventing overeating later on, says Mark Hyman, M.D. A suggestion for a quick breakfast can be as simple as an apple or banana with some nuts! These fruits are powerhouses for life! Among many health benefits, eating bananas aids digestion, helps to stabilize blood sugar, and improves your mood. Apples, too, are a common fruit that can decrease your risk of diabetes, reduce cholesterol and boost your immune system. And remember that bitter is better. If we are focused on healthy eating, it is helpful to remember that cancer hates bitter—so throw some kale and spinach into that morning shake!
