The 49th Annual Tioga County Fair is up and running. It’s going to be a great week of fun and frolic, great food, and lots more! Today is Senior Citizens Day (Free admission to attendees 62 years and over until 5:00pm), tomorrow is Family Day (Free admission for 11 years and under until 5:00 pm, $3 for unlimited amusement rides for children 36 inches and over.) Please note that the FIREWORKS have been moved to Wednesday night at dusk because of weather conditions. You name it and you’ll find it at The Tioga County Fair – from the best chicken barbecue on earth to the Big Tractor Pull. Make sure to check the schedule listed below.

Today on Home Page we want to focus again on a special event that will take place on Saturday, August 15th at 3:00 PM. It’s the 36th Annual Tioga County 4H and FFA Junior Livestock Sale and Milk Auction. This is an event that you do not want to miss. This is a perfect opportunity for you to come and bid on the selection of over 200 animals that will be auctioned that day. Most of the money will go to the exhibitors, while some will aid the upkeep and maintenance of the fair grounds.

On today’s broadcast we visit with Tim Kaltenbach. Tim has been showing at the fair for 11 years and has made many fond memories. Tim reflects on one of his very favorite memories on today’s feature. He also talks about how the Tioga County Fair showcases Tioga County Agriculture and has some very interesting and informative insight on our agriculture community.

We also have the opportunity to meet the steer that Tim will be showing this year and learn a little about the differences in steer and which ones produce the very best meat.

Tim also reflects on how grateful he is for the support of his parents and gives a special shout-out to his AgriScience Teacher Melanie Berndtson at Wellsboro High School.
