Join Us and Relay for Life!
The American Cancer Society states that each year, more that 4 million people in over twenty countries raise the much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer through the Relay For Life movement. This year’s local Relay for Life will take place on The Green in Wellsboro on July 16th beginning at 10:00 AM. You can register in advance or at the event. Most of us have lost family and/or friends to this tragic disease. This is a true opportunity for you to make a difference in our fight against cancer by your participation in Relay for Life.
The event inspires Relay participants to take action against cancer. There will be a time to remember people lost to the disease. And, we will honor loved ones you have fought or who are fighting cancer now. I have lost both my Dad and Mom to cancer. As we were getting ready to shoot today’s feature one of our participants broke down in tears as she remembered her sister. As stated on today’s broadcast it truly takes a united effort to see the progress against cancer that we all want to see. It takes communities coming together and taking action by donating resources as we continue to battle.
Nearly 14 million cancer survivors will attest to the fact that the funds that are raised during this event are truly making a difference in our fight against cancer. We are in this battle together. There could be a day in the future where the resources raised on July 16th actually make a difference in your fight against cancer. Please find a way to participate in this battle. If for some reason you can not make the Relay for Life event on July 16th then go to RELAYFORLIFE.ORG and make a donation.
