Honor Vets & Enjoy Friday Night Concert!
In the USA, Veterans Day annually falls on November 11. This day is the anniversary of the signing of the armistice that ended the World War I hostilities between the Allied nations and Germany in 1918. Veterans are thanked for their service, patriotism, love of country, and willingness to sacrifice for the common good of the United States on Veterans Day.
Our Home Page staff and family of advertisers want to thank all of our veterans today. We also encourage you to attend the Veterans Day Service at 9:00am at Don Gill Elementary school, or join us this morning at 11:00 for the service on the Green. In the studio today we are honored to have the main speaker for the event, Master Sergeant Clare R. Emery, invite us all to come to honor veterans. If you are not able to attend the service, we hope you contact a veteran that you know and thank them for their service.
Remember to join us tomorrow as we air highlights from this year’s Veterans Day tributes at both Don Gill Elementary School and the service on The Green.
Also on today’s feature – an interview with Maria Millar, violinist/composer for Sonic Escape. The musical trio will be appearing in concert for the Wellsboro Community Concert Association this Friday night at 7:30 in the Wellsboro High School Auditorium. To lear more about each member of SonicEscape, you can visit their website at www.sonicescapemusic.com. Maria shared with us how she loves to move when she plays. She enjoys inline skating with her violin, while her husband has been known to ski while playing his flute. (You can watch the video to see for yourself!) Maria also spoke about the connections they make with the audience during their performances. They (as a group) enjoy the interactions and the responses they receive doing their live performances, and will often ask and answer audience questions mid-concert.
When you purchase your ticket for the concert, you can bring as many children as you would like! You can buy your tickets here: BUY TICKETS.
