Happy Thanksgiving!
In 1621, the Pilgrims and Puritans celebrated the first Thanksgiving. They had immigrated from England and for three days they had a feast filled with celebration and “thanksgivings”, or prayers to God for the blessings that He had given them. Almost 400 years later, we are still celebrating this wonderful holiday; and taking a day to remember the things that we have been blessed with and are so thankful for.
Home Page would like to thank our family of advertisers for all the incredible support that they have continuously given us. We could not do it without you. We would also like to thank our viewers. Thank you for supporting us and believing in our mission – which is to provide our viewers with the best online publication possible, and to influence our community for good. It is an honor and a privilege. Most of all we would like to thank our Heavenly Father. He is the reason that we are able to do what we do, and we give all the glory to Him.
Dear Home Page Viewers,
Hi, this is John Vogt. Andrew Moore, our Director of Video Production, has asked me to share with you why I am thankful.
I have so many things to be thankful for this year that it would be challenging to choose just one. I have had some recent medical issues with my kidneys. For a season I thought that maybe the Lord was calling me home to be with Him. Which is ultimately a good thing I know. But, Lord willing, I would like to be here for my family and daughters and have a sense that He still has work for me to do on this earth. So, I am very grateful to God for His mercy and healing touch and making way for me to stay around for a little longer. I am incredibly thankful for all my friends and family who have been praying for me and my recovery.
I am most thankful for my family – Sara, my wife of forty-six years, Regis and Lydia and our grandsons Tucker and Gabe and of course our daughters Johanna and Julianna.
I thank God for my extended family as well. My sister Cathy and my brother in law Dean Dow and their family. And, my extended family here in Wellsboro especially John and Jennifer Davis. All have been loving, kind and giving during my kidney crash.
I am also very thankful for The Home Page Network staff. We are very blessed to have the incredible people that the Lord has given us to be a part of this new media adventure. Especially Andrew Moore our Director of Video Production, Rhonda Pearson our Home Page Operations Manager, and Ed Weaver our Sports Director and IT Manager. These people are not only dear colleagues they are my closest friends.
And, finally, I am very thankful for you our Home Page viewers. I thank God for the thousands of you who enjoy our products on The Home Page Network and Home Page Facebook every month. You are a joy to serve.
Have a blessed time of Thanksgiving.
