Friends of Mansfield Library Book Sale
The Friends of the Mansfield Free Public Library book sale started Monday April 23rd at the First Presbyterian church on East Wellsboro Street in Mansfield. The church social hall is jam packed with books of all genres.
In just three hours, with the help of over 30 volunteers, the books, games, and puzzles were displayed on tables and labeled designating the genre. The doors opened at 10 am with a line nearly reaching the sidewalk. The volunteers have honed a remarkable system to assist patrons. I was surprised and impressed with how many boxes, bags and arm loads of books were sold in the first hour. Don’t worry, if you can’t get there until later in the week, they still have boxes of books that wouldn’t fit on the tables. Stop in everyday to see what is being added. Summer is almost here, grab those books for taking to the beach, pool, our relaxing in the hammock.
They will be open Tuesday- Friday 10 am – 7 pm. Saturday is “bag day” $5/ bag (bags are provided by the Friends) from 10 am – 3 pm
The book sale helps make it possible for the Friends of the library to provide things for the library that the operating budget can’t afford.
Alice Gotschall, chairperson for the book sale, expressed her gratitude to the many volunteers, including Sigma Tau Gamma, and the First Presbyterian Church.
