Friday Night: Hornets vs Wildcats

by John Vogt - January 24, 2015

The Wellsboro Hornets beat the Athens Wildcats Friday night, 62 to 49. The Wildcats looked good during the first half using their 1-2-2 Zone Defense to keep the Hornets at bay. At half time, the Cats went into the locker room leading 27 to 24. The Hornets were also cold during the first two quarters, missing a number or opportunities. The cats were quick on their feet, pawing the ball away several times.

But the Hornets came out the second half on fire, and with several amazing plays turned the game around. Unlike the first half, where a lot of things went wrong – now everything was going right. There was life, rhythm, fast breaks, great timing, and the free throws were dropping. The Hornets took complete control in the 4th quarter, going on to win 62 to 49.

We’ll have all the game highlights on Monday morning right here on Home Page sports. Thanks for watching.
