Freezing Weather Fun Inside!

by Sara Vogt - February 10, 2015

Looking for opportunities to have some fun inside with your friends and family during these colder days? Today we explore a few of those opportunities! Do you enjoy playing board games? Then you will enjoy visiting Pop’s Culture Shoppe. During the week they have different clubs that meet to play games together. To find out more about their monthly events you may stop in to the store and pick up a calendar or e-mail them at info@popcultureshoppe.com and they will be glad to send you one. This week they are taking 20% off any game that falls in the category of Valentine’s Day.

Another indoor opportunity to spend this winter is the story hour held at the Green Free Library. (The story hour meets every Wednesday unless schools are closed or they are running a two-hour delay.) Chandra Weigle has been the story time co-ordinator for the last four years. She chooses a theme each week and shares it by telling a story, doing finger plays, singing, and dancing. She also includes a craft or a fun activity to play. Children from birth to five year old are invited to come with their care-givers. The parents that choose to come have the opportunity to meet other parents and enjoy seeing their children in a different setting. This is also a good place for parents to share a literacy experience with their children (and usually end up taking books home to read and enjoy.)

You can learn more about the Green Free Library on their Facebook page and website.
