The Fabulous 1890s Festival!

by Ryan Campbell - September 23, 2014

On Friday and Saturday, September 26th and 27th, the town of Mansfield will celebrate their annual Fabulous 1890s festival. This is the 23rd year for the festival, which was originally created to celebrate the historic event of the first night football game ever played, which occurred in Mansfield in 1892. The re-enactment of the football game is still a major attraction, as are the fireworks, great food, music and activities for all ages.

>Home Page had the opportunity to speak with Joyce Tice and Dennis Miller, two of the key organizers of the event. They provided insight about the history of the festival and some of this year’s main events.

Check out the 1890s Festival this weekend! It’s a great way to end your summer! You can find more information about the festival at their website: www.1890sweekend.com.
