Cole & Burd Share Love!

by Sara Vogt - March 17, 2015

Recently at Cole & Burd in Mansfield, PA Mark Burd presented a check to the Animal Care Sanctuary as part of the Subaru “Share the Love” Event. The check, in the amount of $9,514 dollars, was presented to the Executive Director of ACS, Joan Smith-Reese and the Wellsboro Director, Wendy Reber. Also there for the presentation was the District Sales Manager of Subaru for Northeast PA, Adam Woodhull. Adam explained the “Share the Love” Sales Event has taken place for the past seven years. This event runs from late November to the end of the year. People who purchase Subaru’s during that time frame can select one of the four National Charities or one home town charity in which Subaru will donate $250.00 in their name. This year Subaru donated $15,000,000. Cole and Burd chose to select a home town charity – the Animal Care Sanctuary. For more information on the Subaru please go to ColeAndBurdSubaru.com.

Joan Smith-Reese of ACS explained that some of money from the check will go to provide food, medical care and vaccinations for the animals. One of the greatest needs right now in Wellsboro is an isolation unit, which will allow them to separate the animals that are ill from the rest of the population. When we asked Wendy Reber what some of the main services were she mentioned re-homing of the animals through adoption, obedience training and canine good citizenship training, and low cost veterinarian services.

If you would like to help ACS please visit their website for more information AnimalCareSanctuary.com or call them at their East Smithfield office at (570) 596-2200 or the Wellsboro office at (570) 724-3687.
