WELLSBORO, PA – On Monday, June 26, 2017, Citizens & Northern Bank hosted their second annual C&N Charity Classic golf event at Tyoga Country Club in Wellsboro, PA. Proceeds from the event will be donated to 18 local organizations that support children in need through C&N’s “Giving Back, Giving Together” community fundraising program. Through the support of C&N team members, sponsors, clients and business partners, the event raised over $20,000 for these organizations. Thirty-four teams participated in a 4-person scramble sponsored by Vantiv, with beverages provided by Proxy Trust, North Eastern Security Systems and Batterson’s Beverage and lunch donated by Keck’s Food Services.

In the week leading up to the event and throughout the day, participants could bid on silent auction items, including a signed Joe Montana San Francisco 49ers helmet, Boomer Esiason signed football and other sports memorabilia items. All participants were entered into a drawing for over 30 door prizes and invited to participate in a raffle for a Yeti Hopper Cooler, Masterbuilt Electric Smoker, Titleist golf balls and many other great prizes. TJ Howe, a local professional golfer, offered some help on Hole Three by hitting a tee ball for each team. Throughout the day, a putting contest was held on the practice green prior to Hole One. Following the event, the players and supporters gathered to watch the final round of the putting contest on the 18th green, where Ralph Ruvolo won the $100 prize and donated it back to the cause.

This year’s “Giving Back, Giving Together” campaign is focused on helping children in need by partnering with 18 local organizations throughout our area in NY & PA. Throughout the year, C&N team members compete against each other to raise money for their organization with a goal of raising $60,000. There are several ways that you can get involved and take part in making a better life for local, underprivileged children:

• Share & Like C&N’s Facebook posts with the hashtag #givingbackgivingtogether.
• We’ll again donate $1 for every like or share to the cause.
• Monetary donations are always welcomed.
• Visit us September 25 – September 30 or December 11 – December 16 for on-site events, including fundraisers, clothing, supply or food drives and other activities.
• Spread the word!
