Christmas on Main Street 2018
The third annual Christmas on Main Street took place in Wellsboro, PA this past weekend. Joy was in the air, and festive activities ruled the day. Christmas music echoed through the Main Street corridor as people from all over the region sipped hot chocolate and enjoyed a time of family fun and Christmas shopping.
Families strolled through town learning about the famous “Shiny Brite Ornaments” and the history of Wellsboro’s Corning Glass plant. At one time Wellsboro, PA was the glass Christmas ornament capital of the world.
During the second half of today’s broadcast we traveled back in time to the 1940s for a spectacular fashion show hosted by renowned hat designer Christine A Moore of Christine A Moore Millinery in New York, NY and Ann Dunham Rawson of Dunham’s Department Store in Wellsboro, PA.
The models featured in this year’s fashion show were inspired by the 1940s style with clothing provided by Dunham’s Department Store and hats provided by Christian A Moore Millinery.
Then on Sunday morning at the historic Penn Wells Hotel Santa Brunch kids big and small crawled up in Santa’s lap and talked about what they wanted for Christmas. He asked some very pointed questions to find out who was naughty and who has been nice. The children loved the moment, and the Moms and Dads loved the delicious food.
Be sure to make it a family priority to visit Wellsboro, PA next year for Christmas on Main Street 2019. And, if you still have people left on your Christmas shopping list remember the local stores throughout Tioga County are ready to serve you with friendly faces, small-town charm and that perfect gift for family and friends.
This year’s winners of the Christmas on Main Street gifts baskets:
