In Tioga County, Pennsylvania, we have many events for you to choose from – be sure to check out some of these upcoming activities:
Starting Saturday, April 5th, and each Saturday to the end of May -Gary Tyson of the Tiadaghton Audubon Society will be hosting bird watching walks at Hills Creek State Park. The walks start at 8a.m. and last about two hours. You are to meet him at the park office. Spring is a great time to see many different species of birds! For more information you can call the park office at 570-724-4246 or visit their website at www.tiaudubon.org.
Hills Creek State Park is having a volunteer event to get the park ready for the season. The event takes place on April 12 but you need to register by April 4 by calling the park office at 570-724-4246. Or go to their website by clicking this link and select the events tab.
On April 6th, the reception for the Pine Creek Decorative Artists exhibit will be held at the Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center from 2:00p.m. until 4:00p.m. Their display will be showing for the month of April. Decorative painting is a diverse art form utilizing a variety of techniques and media to decorate functional and non-functional surfaces.
As a citizen of the Wellsboro borough or Charleston, Delmar, and Duncan townships, you are invited to give your input into the Multi-Municipal plan. We live in a beautiful, tranquil area. We know the transportation hot spots and the growing pains associated with natural gas development. Help your local leaders preserve our strengths, and protect our children’s futures by giving your well-thought-out opinions on transportation, land use, and growth development. This workshop will take place on April 3rd, at 6pm at the Whitneyville Fairgrounds.
Our last Community Concert for this season is the Tamburitzans. Actually there are 35 Tamburitzans that will be entertaining us! Through their 75-year history, their mission and purpose has never changed—to allow traditions of the past to live through music, dance, and many cultural resources. Excellent time to bring the children who have free admission when they accompany a paying adult. This concert will take place on April 5 at 2:30pm, at Wellsboro High School.
