Chamber Highlights – Summer in Mansfield!

by Amiee Jones - June 14, 2017

Mansfield’s summer schedule is HOT, HOT, HOT! Chamber of Commerce Rep, Dawn Hull, shared some of the events we have to look forward to in the coming weeks. Of course, the 4th of July celebration is fast approaching. This shindig includes a parade, fireworks, and lots of live music!

Also bringing some excitement to summertime, the Classic Car Cruise-ins are back! Check out these vintage rides every Thursday night in the First Citizens Bank parking lot, and enjoy a hotdog while you’re at it. Then, closing out the summer, a brand new event will be taking place! A Heritage Festival, complete with historic costumes and displays will provide a fascinating account of the history and transformation of Mansfield, going over a century back in time.

Crystal Smith (Mansfield Borough Manager) also shared some pertinent updates. Mansfield’s new, state of the art playground project is underway. Two sizeable grants have been received to renovate the Graydon Scott South Academy Street playground. The new design will include a toddler/Pre-k area, play area for older children, swings, and pavilion. Other town updates include the Mansfield swimming pool. Smith Divulged that the pool had been leaking millions of gallons of water due to a crack. The renewal of the town pool will prevent tax dollars from trickling away, as well as, give the public a beautiful new summer facility to utilize.

There are certainly many things to look forward to this summer in Mansfield! For more events and information, please visit the Chamber’s website, and the Borough website.
