Chamber Highlights – September Happenings

The annual Labor Day fly-in breakfast will be held at the Wellsboro Johnston Airport on Sunday, September 3. Stop by for a delicious, all-you-can-eat breakfast of fresh, buckwheat pancakes, ham, eggs, orange juice, and coffee from 8:00am to noon. Requested is a donation of $7 for adults, $3 for children 3-8 years old, and free for children 2 and under. Full-sized airplanes and ultralights will be on display as well as radio controlled airplanes, helicopters and quadcopters. Canyon Aero, LLC will provide airplane rides for $35.

“Stress-Free Leadership: Living Your Best Life While Inspiring Others” will be held in Wellsboro on September 7 & 8, and in Williamsport on September 23 & 24, 9am-4pm. Call Kate at Triumph Leadership Group to register: 570-723-1020. Registration is limited.

Stage Fright, a tribute band, will be performing bluegrass music at 7:30pm at The Warehouse Gallery at The Deane Center on September 8th. This event is BYOB. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased by calling 570-724-6220.

The Laurel Classic Mountain Bike Challenge will take place at the US Geological Survey in Asaph, PA. The event will be held on September 9th at 8:30am. There are competitive categories for males and females ranging in age from 12 to 68+ that compete on the 11-mile or 22-mile course. There are cash and prize table awards. Course maps and registration forms are available on the bike challenge’s Facebook page and at the Chamber office at 114 Main Street in Wellsboro.

Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital is hosting the Community Blood Bank on September 11, 2017 from 12:00pm-5:00pm. All are encouraged to donate if it has been at least 56 days since their last donation, they are over 110 pounds, at least 17 years old, and are in good health. Appointments are not required, but can be made by calling (570) 723-0131.

The second annual Endless Mountain Film Festival will run from September 15-17, featuring films from over several different countries and from all over the United States. From riveting Feature Films, to dynamic shorts, gut busting comedies, wholehearted family films, and intriguing documentaries, the Endless Mountains Film Festival has a movie for everyone. The films will be shown at the Penn Wells Hotel and the Arcadia Theatre in Wellsboro.

The “Brimming with Style” hat show and champagne luncheon at The Fifth Season will take place on Saturday, September 16th from noon – 2:00pm. Enjoy a three-course champagne luncheon and watch models as they show Christine’s beautiful hat creations.

The Arcadia Theatre presents “Finian’s Rainbow” on September 22-24 at 7:30pm each night. Adults tickets are $18 and student tickets are $12. For more information or to order your ticket, call 570-724-9371.
