Chamber Highlights – Fall Season Activities

by Andrew Moore - September 21, 2016

Summer is coming to a close, and as the leaves change, so do our calendars. It’s time to mark yours with fall season activities! Wellsboro Area Chamber of Commerce President, Marsha Chesko, offers a peek at just a few of the many autumn offerings in Wellsboro.

“We have lots of concerts, lots of music going on in the next six weeks,” remarks Chesko. The Wellsboro Community Concert Series will be starting in October, debuting with two concerts at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts. On October 1st at 7:30pm, Johnny Cash’s younger brother, Tommy Cash, will be playing in the Coolidge Theatre at the Deane Center. The second community concert series show will star Toby Walker at 7:30pm on October 28th, also in the Coolidge Theatre.

Enjoy food, music, sales and more at this year’s final First Friday celebration on October 7th. This event will feature several new activities and entertainment, including the Men’s Chorus (who will be walking and singing around downtown Wellsboro). The Fifth Season will also be offering beer tasting for the first time ever. Grab a friend or family member and swing over to the Deane Center lobby for FREE ballroom dancing! Wrap up the evening with the Sadie Green Sales jugband concert, also at the Deane Center.

The music continues on October 9th with Hamilton-Gibson’s annual Autumn Chorale at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

Hop in the car or strap on your walking shoes and venture into the Wellsboro community on October 14-15 and find second-hand treasures, great deals, unique gifts and more during the Fall Community Yard Sale!

Enjoy the fall foliage and autumn beauty of the Tioga County countryside before it disappears. Ole Covered Wagon Tours is open for business! Gather the family together and take a ride through the breathtaking Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.
