Back to College Dorm Tips
College can be an exciting time, but it can also be challenging when it comes to packing for a small space like a dorm room. Fortunately, we found some great tips to help you save space!
To prevent your desk from becoming cluttered, store paper clips, push pins, rubber bands, and other small items in an ice cube tray. For added convenience, slide the tray into a desk drawer so it’s there when you need it.
Electronic plugs always seem to get tangled. To keep them accessible, attach large binder clips to the side of your desk, and put the cords through the clips to hold them.
Not enough room in your closet? Save those soda pop tabs to use as an extra hanging space for your clothes. Simply put one end of the tab over a hanger, and attach another hanger to the bottom end. Layer as many as you would like!
Try rolling your t-shirts before putting them in your drawer to maximize your dresser space.
If you like to wear scarves, attach plastic shower rings to a hanger for an easy way to hang them.
Command hooks are a great way to keep purses, belts, jackets, and other accessories off the floor. They are easy to use, and best of all, they won’t damage your walls.
These are just a few of the great tips we found when searching online for ways to save space.
Next, we headed to Dunham’s Department Store to pick up some other great dorm room essentials. Bed rest pillows provide a comfortable way to do homework while sitting on your bed. A memory mattress topper can provide a good night’s rest before your exams.
To carry your laundry, pack a Smart Savers Foldaway Laundry Hamper. It’s collapsible, lightweight, and has a handle on each side to make it easy to carry. There’s even a small pouch on the side to carry your laundry detergent, dryer sheets, fabric softener, etc. The best part is that it’s only $1 at Dunham’s!
A reusable water bottle is vital for college students. Not only will it save you money and space, but it’s great for the environment. And, staying hydrated can help improve your focus while studying.
In college, there are plenty of papers to write, tests to study for, and projects to complete. Keep it all organized with your favorite planner – perfect for to-do lists, meetings, and important dates.
We hope these tips have made you feel more prepared and organized to start the year off right. Thanks for joining us today on The Home Page Network.
