Auction Day is Coming!

by Morgan Koziar - August 10, 2016

Home Page correspondent, Morgan Koziar, had the opportunity to speak with Auctioneer and Fair Board Director, Tim Kaltenbach Sr., and his daughter, Kaycee Kaltenbach. Kaycee has been an exhibitor at the fair for the past 9 years, five of which she won Grand Champion with her market goats. Showing animals at the fair has helped Kaycee gain self confidence in front the public. Kaycee enjoys helping her father on their farm, where they raise dairy heifers and boer goats. With a strong father-daughter bond, it’s no surprise that Kaycee is grateful for her father guidance, knowledge, and support over the years. Kaycee plans on using the money that she raises at the fair to go towards further education after high school.

Every year the Tioga County Fair holds a 4-H and FFA Jr. Livestock Sale and Milk Auction. This auction provides a venue for young exhibitors to gain experience and agricultural knowledge. The community also has the opportunity to purchase animals and donate money. This is a wonderful opportunity for buyers to receive advertising on behalf of their company. You will have the opportunity to purchase champion steer, hogs, lambs, market goats, rabbits, chickens, and champion milk from seven dairy breeds. All of the money raised at the auction will be divided among the Jr. Livestock Sale Committee and exhibitors. We would like to welcome you to the 37th annual 4-H and FFA Jr. Livestock Sale and Milk Auction that will be taking place this Saturday August 13th at 3:00pm. The auction will take place at the Whitneyville Fairgrounds in the show ring.
