Attics, Basements & Secret Places! Episode 2

by John Vogt - April 24, 2014

Today on Home Page we continue our special series titled Attics, Basements, and Secret places. We visited the bottom of Northwest Savings Bank in Wellsboro, PA. It’s reminiscent of old catacombs, with a number of old bank vaults, secret doors, and one twist and turn after another. It’s possible to get lost in just a few seconds. If we had known how confusing it was going to be, I think I would have dropped breadcrumbs to help us find our way back. In the really old section under the bank, we discovered a bomb shelter and experienced an adrenaline rush when we encountered problems with the vault door. I commend Johanna Vogt and Morgan Koziar for their bravery.

We finally arrived at the treasure box filled with items dating back to the early 1900’s. Shooting this segment was both interesting and adventurous. With the exception of cob webs, producing this piece was a lot of fun.

Special thanks to Northwest Savings Bank Manager Blake Maxson and his incredible staff for their time and hospitality. If you are looking for a bank that services all of Tioga County and excels in fast, friendly customer service, then look no further.

Be watching for our next edition of Attics, Basements, and Secret Places. It’s all right here on Wellsboro Home Page.
