Krystal’s mission is to save horses lives
It’s official, a new nonprofit large animal rescue center has been approved by the IRS as a 5013 (C) public charity organization which means Krystal Knecht, the president of the Mainesburg, PA Tioga County Equine Rehabilitation Center Inc. can now accept donations. Donors can deduct donations made to the center under IRC Section 170. They are also eligible to receive tax deductible bequests, devices, transfers or gifts under IRC Section 2055, 2106, or 2522.
Krystal’s story rescuing horses began in 2016 when a neighboring county’s animal humane officer contacted her with a horse that was in need of some TLC. The Equine Rehabilitation Center has grown from that single fortuitous act of kindness.
Home Page’s Sara Vogt met recently with Krystal at the rescue farm located in Mainesburg, PA.
Watch today’s feature to find out more about some of the horses that have blossomed at the farm, who is currently at the farm, and how you can help with the Center’s mission to give large animals in need of care a temporary new home. All animals that come to the farm are available for adoption once they are deemed well on their way to recovery.
